Cinematic SF @ Mission Cultural Center (APICC)

Cinematic SF @ Mission Cultural Center on May 10 is one of a series of special presentations of APICC’s Cinematic SF film program. Showcasing the works of local filmmakers R.J. Lozada, Abhi Singh, Kevin Wong, and Jimmy Zhang from May 10-May 26, 2017, each screening will be held in a San Francisco community venue, with different performances and guest speakers.

The Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center (APICC) brings the new local film project CINEMATIC SF to San Francisco’s Mission district, celebrating the city’s creative diversity and illuminating stories of displacement and gentrification. Featured film “No Vacancy” chronicles the experiences of local artists who strive to live in San Francisco while facing economic challenges and threat of eviction. Profiled artists include two who were part of a group of artists recently evicted from the art studio in the “Beast on Bryant” building, now being developed for new housing.

Cinematic SF @ Mission Cultural Center will feature the films of Cinematic SF, a talk on artists communities and displacement, and a special performance from Fogo Na Roupa. The films will be preceded by additional local shorts produced by Bay Area Video Coalition’s media students.

DOORS OPEN: 7PM
